Corrine Tow, 89, of rural Dunbar, died Thursday morning, January 11th, at her home. Mrs. Tow would have turned 90 the next day. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16th, at the Stavanger Friends Church with Pastor Jim Bonser officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Stavanger Friends Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday. Born Corrine Carlson on January 12th, 1917, at Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Lars and Agena (Tjossem) Carlson. She graduated from the Dunbar High Schools Class of 1934. On April 17th, 1938, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Tow in Marshalltown. They resided for a half-year at Dysart then in the Dunbar area all of their married lives. In 1954, they moved to the current home. Mrs. Tow helped her husband in farming, decorated cakes and was a member of the Stavanger Friends Church, the church sewing circle and the Happy Hour Club. She treasured her family and will be fondly remembered for her laugh, her generosity and support of her neighbors and friends. Left to mourn her loss is her three children: Larry (Judy) Tow of the rural Dunbar area, Mary Ann (Don) Lovell of Marshalltown and Stan (Necia) Tow of Dysart, 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband Kenneth who died in 1991, a grandson at birth, sister in infancy, her brother Clarence Carlson and his wife, Corrines sister-in-law and dear friend, Mabel Carlson.
