Cosbie Ethel Dishner, 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on July 11, 2008 at Grandview Heights Nursing Home following a brief illness. According to her wishes, no services will be held and her body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals. Cards and memorials may be sent to 104 College View Lane, Marshalltown, Iowa 50158. (www.mitchellfh.com) Born Cosbie Ethel Kinser on March 2, 1934 in Mercer County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Ora and Louise (Lovell) Kinser. She graduated from Matoaka High School in Matoaka, West Virginia in 1953. She married Robert D. Dishner on Nov. 8, 1957 in Lebanon, Virginia. They moved to Marshalltown in 1959 where she was employed at Marshalltown Instruments for 25 years. Later she was co-owner of O.J.'s Diner with her sister. She worked as a kitchen supervisor and cook at local nursing homes for many years before retiring. Cosbie was a dedicated wife to Bob for over 50 years. She was a hard worker. An excellent cook and seamstress. She loved sewing, gardening and flowers. She helped with the Share Program in Marshalltown for a number of years. She enjoyed helping less fortunate people without receiving recognition. She attended Ferguson Christian Church. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bob, her brothers, Dasil Kinser of Beeson, West Virginia, Dillard (Jerry) Kinser of Little Rock, Ar.,sister Althea (Dean) Eubanks of Marshalltown, brother-in-laws Jill (Norma) Dishner, Lynn (Loma) Dishner, David (Pat). Sister-in-laws Maude, Peggy, Shelby, Phyllis (Sunny) Thomason, Debby (Steve) Thorn of West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. In death, she rejoins her parents, a baby sister, her in-laws and brother-in-law, Jack Dishner.
