Cristin (Mrs. Roger) Freiboth, 49, of rural Dillon, died in the peace of her home on the morning of Wednesday, January 30th, in care of her family and Iowa River Hospice. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Born on May 19, 1963, in Marshalltown, she was one of eight children born to Larry and Mariann (Deming) Cunningham. She was raised in the Catholic faith and graduated from the Marshalltown High School. Cris was united in marriage to Jeff Overton and to this union two sons were born: Jamey and Jordon. She later married Roger Freiboth on August 1, 2008, in Marshalltown, and they shared those wonderful, but short, years of marriage at their home north of Dillon. To their union, Roger brought his daughter, Teri (Brad) Starn, and their boys, Landon and Porter, and son, Tim Freiboth, to be a part of one big family.Cris was passionate about helping those with special needs and challenges. Through the years she was employed at CIRSI, Meskwaki Casino, Maximus (later Young Williams), Mid-Iowa Workshops, Progress Industrie,s and Lutheran Services. Cris enjoyed playing in pepper tournaments and treasured her family.Left to cherish her memory are Roger, her loving husband; her sons: Jamey (fiance Jessica) of Des Moines and their daughter Faith; Jordon (Rachelle) of Maxwell and their daughter Veda; her siblings: Terry Cunningham, Sharon (Harold) Foulk, Casey Cunningham, Guy (Trish) Cunningham, Todd Cunningham, Julie (Mike) Ellis, and Jay (Beth) Cunningham; many nieces and nephews including Jillissa and Jenna Foulk, who so closely loved her in life and cared for her on this last journey. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Freiboth of Dillon. In death, she rejoined her parents and grandparents.
