Crystal B. Choate

Crystal B. Choate, 89, of Marshalltown, died on Wednesday morning, March 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Crystal was born on December 25, 1918, in Puttman County, Missouri to George and Joyce Ann Pat (Rouse) Harmon. She was educated in the area of her birth. On December 18, 1939 she was united in marriage to Marvin Wayne Choate. The resided in Unionville, Missouri, New Providence and Melbourne, IA. Crystal was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, entertaining relatives, fishing, was the family historian, and loved to spoil her grandchildren. Left to celebrate her life are her children: Larry (JoAnn) Choate, Garry (Bette) Choate, Perry (Kitty) Choate, and Kathy (Mark) McFarland; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Frank (Goldie) Harmon, Dorothy Rice, Bob (Rosie) Harmon, and Alfreida Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband who passed away in 2000; brothers: Glenn and James; sisters: Mary and Maxine; and an infant sister.
