Cynthia Westphal

Cynthia A. Westphal, 49, of Albion, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospital.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19th, 2009, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She was the daughter of Allan and Gloria (Byers) Schrock. Cindy graduated from West Marshall High School Class of 1978. On January 24, 1979, Cindy married Mike Westphal at Elim Lutheran Church. The couple lived in the rural Mormon Ridge area where Cindy grew up. The couple had two sons, Ben and Zachary. Cindy was a member of Mormon Ridge Trailblazers Saddle Club. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, canning, and the Green Bay Packers, especially Brett Favre.Surviving Cindy are her husband, Mike Westphal, of Albion; her sons, Ben Westphal and Zachary Westphal, both of Marshalltown; her brothers and sisters, Rachel, Mark, Paul, Amy, Emily, and Sarah; her step-mother, Laurie Schrock; and her special cousin, who was like her sister, Becky Davenport.In death, Cindy has rejoined her parents and grandparents.
