Dale Robert Baker, Sr.

Dale Robert Baker, Sr., 63, of Marshalltown, passed away June 5, 2021, at Accura Healthcare. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Dale’s family. Dale was born on August 27, 1957 in Iowa City, the son of Dale Roy Baker and Bunola Gummert Baker. He grew up in the LeGrand area and graduated from LDF High School. He held several responsibilities in the construction field and most notably enjoyed repairing and fixing cars and trucks. His family and friends will remember him as, “if Dale can’t fix it, nobody can”. Dale was a devout Harley Davidson enthusiast and rider and was a friend to all who he met. So many of his friends and family will remember him as “Pa Kettle”. He loved his family and all children. He enjoyed driving school buses for the Marshalltown Public Schools for many years. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Farhana Baker; his children: Dale “Robbie” Baker, Jr., Chad Baker; Amber (Joshua) Stanton and Brittany (Trevor) Sielaff; 15 grandchildren; his siblings: Diana (Dave) Mason, Pam (John) Wyatt, Teresa (Jr.) Burke, Lyda “Tootie” Jackson-Guiterrez, Fran Anderson, Mary Pickett, Dale Roy Baker, Harold Baker; and his faithful canine companion, Trouble. In eternal life, Dale has been reunited with his parents; his children’s mother, Melody Schmidt; his sister, Cheryl Wagner; his grandson, Greyson Sielaff and his great grandson, Carson Winders.
