Born October 14, 1913 the first of ten children to Linnie Margaret Paul and John Bruce Campbell, Dale Red Campbell died April 29, 2010.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dale and his family. Maxine Foreman; two children Carol and Gerald; two grandchildren Sherry Runge and Justin Campbell; one great-grandchild Logan Campbell; three brothers and one sister.Survivors include his wife Myrtle Thompson Campbell, whom he married in 1989; his children Jackie, Larry (Barbara), Dwayne, Judy (LaVerne) Olney, Tom (Judy), Dennis and daughter-in-law Ila. He leaves five brothers and one sister, 21 grandchildren, more than 50 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews plus his wifes four children Julia (Larry) Allspach, Donna (Larry) Harger, Jerald (Clarice) Thompson, and Dennis (Judy) Thompson, her 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Dale grew up in the Laurel/ Gilman area, graduated from Gilman High School, worked at Fisher Control, and farmed his entire life before retiring to Newton in 1995. Dale was a valued friend to many and loved to laugh, talk, and eat!
