Dale Darrah,55, a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home, died there Tuesday, March 13. Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery on Tuesday, March 20. There will not be a visitation. Dale was born in Missouri on July 23, 1956, the son of Frank and Sarah (Richmond) Darrah. Throughout his lifetime Dale honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from the Army he returned to Missouri to be with his family. Dale became a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in the late 1970s. Dale enjoyed reading and spent a lot of time at the library. Dale is survived by his two sisters: Ruth Briggs of Libertyville, Iowa and Mary Bowner of New Orleans, Louisiana, six nephews and one niece.
