Dale Ethington

Dale Dean Ethington, 90, of Melbourne, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at his home. Per Dale’s request there will be no funeral services and a private family burial will be held at a later time. Dale Ethington was born on March 7, 1927 in State Center to Alva and Catherine Bernard Ethington. He graduated from State Center High School in 1944 and went on to the University of Iowa. Dale served his country honorably in the United States Navy from July 31, 1944 until his honorable discharge on June 16, 1946. In 1949, Dale was united in marriage to Madonna Hartwell in Marshalltown. Dale had worked for Sperry Univac as an electrical engineer. Dale is preceded in death by his wife Madonna and his parents Alva and Catherine.
