Dale W. Rubenbauer

Dale W. Rubenbauer, 88, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with his loving family by his side. Funeral services for Dale will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. where his family will be present to greet family and friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dale and his family. Dale W. Rubenbauer was born on July 30, 1926, the son of Lloyd and Helen (Kellogg) Rubenbauer. He was raised and educated in the Albion school district graduating from Albion High School. Dale Honorably served his Country during WWII as a part of the United States Army. He was united in Marriage to Vera Moore on June 30, 1944, in Owatonna, Minnesota. From this union four children were born: Carolyn Sue, Rita, Kathy and Gary. Dale was always known as a hardworking man dedicating his life to farming in the Green Mountain area. He was a member of the American Legion, Lyons Club, Green Mountain School board Member and also attended the Gladbrook Chapel Church. He had a passion for his family, fishing, flying airplanes, camping, traveling, driving and trading cars but most of all he enjoyed long Sunday afternoon drives with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Carolyn Sue (the late Terry) Matheny of Paradisa, CA, Rita (Joel Beane) Frederick of Marshalltown, IA, Kathy (Reg) Zwemke of Marshalltown, IA and Gary (Ann) Rubenbauer of Marshalltown, IA; grandchildren: Ronna Frederick of Jacksonville, FL, Rodeny Frederick of Norfolk, VA, Amy (Tom) Foster of Grassrange, MT, Wendy (Jim) Gradwell of Marshalltown, IA, Lindsay (Shawn) Wade of Weldon, IA, Disa (Blair) Benefield of Knoxville, TN and Jamin Rubenbauer Adel, IA; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister: Betty (Truman) Rosedale; two brothers: Glen (Marlene) Rubenbauer and Richard (Mary Lou) Rubenbauer; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Vera; parents: Lloyd and Helen Rubenbauer and two son-in-laws: Terry Matheny and Ron Frederick.
