Dallas Clark

Dallas Harold Clark, 68, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.    Funeral services for Dallas will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with burial and combined military honors from the VFW Post 839 and American Legion Honor Guard to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home.  Memorials may be directed to the VFW Post 839 in Marshalltown.  For more information or to send a condolence, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234.  Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dallas and his family.  Dallas Clark was born on April 22, 1949 in St. Anthony, Iowa to Harold and Margaret Eggleston Clark.  He graduated MHS, class of 1967 and continued his education at MCC.  On June 22, 1968, Dallas was united in marriage to Laura Anne Scheffert at First Baptist Church (Temple) in Marshalltown.  Dallas joined the United States Army in September of 1969 and served in Vietnam as an Americal Division Specialist S-5 Rank and helicopter electrician.  Dallas retired from Fisher Controls as an Electrician in 2014, after 40 years of employment.  Dallas had previously worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad and Marshalltown Trowel.  He was a member of UAW, American Legion, and VFW Post 839 and was a former Post Commander in 2017.  Dallas enjoyed model trains, helicopters, remote cars, motorcycles, electronics, tools, and Allis-Chalmers tractors.  Dallas was known for his patriotism and his love for his family, whom he loved to spend time with.  He was passionate about serving as a member of the combined Honor Guard unit.    Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Laura. Daughters: Margaret Yuva of Arizona, Jillissa (Duane) Kehoe of Marshalltown, Emily (Jimmy) Savage of Gilbert IA, Elizabeth (Matthew) Johnson and Abigail Clark of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Morgan, Madisen, and Macaelyn Yuva of AZ, Drew Quick and Beau Kehoe of Marshalltown, Lucas and Levi Savage of Gilbert IA, Myla and Garrett Johnson, and Alexis Rarick of Marshalltown. Siblings: Florence Reischauer Rhodes (Larry) of Zearing, and Janice (Del) Masterhan of IL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Dallas is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Margret Eggleston Clark.  Brothers: Duane and Keith Clark.  Sisters: Doris Shimmel Klopping, Carolyn (Bernie) Beuter, his grandparents and father-n-law William E. Scheffert.
