Dan "Danny" Lynn Allison

Dan L. “Danny” Allison, age 70, of the Iowa Veterans Home, passed away Tuesday night, March 24th.           Funeral services will be announced following CDC recommendation of public events during this pandemic. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on November 30th, 1949, in Cherry Pointe, NC, he was the son of George Russell and Mabel (Sherrouse) Allison. He graduated from high school and received his BS degree in education. When in high school, he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol.           Danny served our country honorably in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam- following in his father’s military footsteps. He served from 1969 until 1986. He later taught middle school and called Arizona, Virginia and Hampton, Iowa, his home. When his parents started having health issues, he returned to care for them. His heart was big and he would give up anything for his family.           Danny loved gardening, reading, nature and the outdoors, old cars and cats. He is well-deserving of our praises for defending our country.           He is blessed with four siblings: Francesca Allison of Portsmouth, VA, Susan (Bill) Glass of Wilton, CT, George “Rusty” (Debbie) Allison, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD and Cheryle (Ken) McCormick of Plymouth, MI, many nieces, nephews, and his IVH family.           In death, he rejoined his parents and brother, James Irvin Allison.
