Daniel L. Bryant, 69, of Albion passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown.The visitation will be held 5:00 pm 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The funeral will be held 10:30 am Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Marietta Cemetery. Full military honors will be performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Harry C. Harter Post #839. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Daniel and his family.Daniel Lee Bryant was born in Marshalltown on April 17, 1942; he was the son of Julius and Dorothy (Brown) Bryant. He was raised on a farm near Mormon Ridge and graduated from the Clemons High School in 1959. On May 29, 1960, Dan was united in marriage to Sandra Sunny Holmquist. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Chipola during the years of 1960-1963. Dan and Sandra moved to their current home in Albion, IA in 1964 where they raised three daughters. He worked at Fisher Controls from 1964 until his retirement in 1999. Dan enjoyed traveling; especially his accomplishment of riding to all of the continental forty-eight states, Mexico, and lower Canadian Provinces on his motorcycle with his wife. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards and board games with friends, auto racing, and helping out anyone who asked. He especially loved his family and spending time with his friends.He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Sunny Bryant; his daughters: Danielle Dilks, Deb Bryant, and Julie Danner; grandchildren: Jill (Chris) Lewis, Craig Roseland, Theil Brown, Amanda Brown, Savanna Stanley, Randy Danner Jr., Rene Danner, and Emily Borton; seven great grandchildren; siblings: David Bryant and Leslie Walden; and nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Mel Walden.
