Dan Ruopp, 67, of Allison Rehab Center of Allison, Iowa and formerly of rural Marshalltown, Iowa passed on May 25th, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Timber Creek Cemetery near Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home in memory of Dan. Daniel Rodney Ruopp was born on January 14, 1950, at the St. Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the eldest son of Rodney and Doris (Elliott) Ruopp. Dan attended LDF School District graduating with the class of 1968. He had lived in Marshall County most of his life. At an early age Dan was involved in a tragic accident, which left him with a traumatic brain injury, which changed Dans life forever. He was well known for his quick smile and ability to sing a rendition, any Dean Martin song Everybody Loves Somebody and a closing blessing. He worked as a security guard and a welder at the St. Anthony quarry. He enjoyed metal work and shooting guns, drawing and singing. Left to cherish Dans memory are his siblings, Phil Ruopp of Le Grand, Iowa, Keith Ruopp of Milford, Nebraska and Doby (Lane) Williams of Toledo, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. In death Dan rejoins his parents, Rodney and Doris, brother, Tony and sister-in-law, Joyce Ruopp. The family would like to invite family and friends to the Mitchell Family Funeral Home for a time of fellowship and refreshments after the service at Timber Creek Cemetery.
