Danny was born to Charlie and Evelyn (Couser) Davis June 16, 1943 at the Emma Wohlert birthing house in State Center, Iowa. A farm boy at their Clemons, Iowa farms, he rode horses with his sisters, raised baby beeves for the fair and played with his cousins. Danny graduated from Clemons High School in 1961 and started working at Fisher Controls while farming with his dad. He enlisted in the United States Air Force maintaining giant generators while stationed at Palma de Mallorca, Spain. His job at Fisher was waiting for him when he returned to the United States and he worked there until retirement.

Danny met and married Donna Jean Smith December 21, 1969. They made their home in Marshalltown and did many remodeling and addition projects over the years and remained in that home all of their married life until moving to the Willows this past summer. Danny and Donna made many memorable cross country motorcycle trips with friends, bicycled trails and enjoyed their pontoon. Danny relished playing and trading guitars with Rex. He loved to build, paint artwork, tinker and all things mechanical. Danny had a strong faith and loved the Lord and his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Danny loved his family and the young ones were the light of his life. “Papa” told stories, jumped on the bed and led them in life. Surviving Danny are his wife Donna, son Greg (Analyn) Smith, granddaughters Amber Smith (Lance Schaum), Breanna Smith (Broderick Menzel), grandson Dylan Smith and great-granddaughter Kirra Carson. Also surviving are his sisters Ruth (Larry) Eggers, Dixie (Dennis) Walters and JoDee Davis, nephew Todd Eggers and nieces Chandra Smith, Jeannie Schryver and Marie Gardengauer.
