Danny L. Vodochodsky Sr., age 81, of Tama, Iowa and formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of December 25, 2025 in the comfort of his own home.

Per Danny’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Danny’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Danny Lee Vodochodsky was born January 5, 1944 in Albion, Iowa. He was the youngest of three children born to John Vodochodsky and Florence Taylor. His father re-married at a young age and from their union, Danny gained three siblings, Terry, Barry and Sherry to Danny attended school in Albion, Iowa, graduating in 1962. He joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably.

On August 6, 1963, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Janice West in Marshalltown, Iowa. They made a home for themselves raising three children, Tony, Danny Jr. and Anita. He worked for Fisher Controls holding many positions over the years including supervisor. After retiring from Fisher Controls, Danny worked as a truck driver where he drove for various companies. Danny and Janice moved to Tama, Iowa when they purchased a farm for the family to enjoy. They both enjoyed raising cattle over the years.

In his free time, Danny enjoyed traveling alongside Janice when they were able to do so. He also enjoyed getting to spend time with all of his grandchildren. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman and loved to go hunting alongside his dad.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Janice Vodochodsky; his children, Danny (Teresa) Vodochodsky Jr. and Anita (Carl) Burchard; his grandchildren, Alisha Hiles, Rick (Abigail) Burchard, Bliss (Will) Cruz, Brittney (Kyle) Mass, Zach Noel, Brandi Vodochodsky, Dakota Vodochodsky and Jensen Vodochodsky; four great-grandchildren, Faye Burchard, Sawyer Mass, Luka Mass and Jayden Hiles. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Barry Vodochodsky and Sherry Larson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Vodochodsky; parents, John Vodochodsky and Edward Packer and Florence Taylor; siblings, John Vodochodsky, Lorna Gould and Terry Vodochodsky.
