Darlene Little 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away at Southridge Nursing and Rehab on Friday, November 18, 2011.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the Family. Phone 641-844-1234.Darlene Irene Gottschalk was born on August 9, 1937 in Lowden, Iowa she was the daughter of Albert and Mathilda (Theesfeld) Gottschalk. Darlene attended school at the Lutheran School in Lowden. On May 17, 1953 she married Carl H. Little in Nausha at the Little Brown Church. Carl and Darlene moved to Marshalltown in 1968. She had worked at Chuck Smith Distributing and Fernettes Art Gallery. Darlene will be remembered as being a great seamstress, and enjoyed quilting, and her flower gardens but her family was most important to her.Left to cherish her memory are her children; Bonnie (Pat) Lowry and Doug and (Cheryl) Little, all of Marshalltown, grandchildren Nathaniel(Christi) Lowry of Waukee, Iowa Andrea( Michael) Schaa, of Bondurant, Iowa, Cara( Eric) Ferch of Gladbrook, Iowa, and Chad( Lauren) Little of Des Moines, and her three great-grandchildren Morgan Rose Lowry , Caleb Douglas Ferch and Kendall Drew Schaa.Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; Albert and Mathilda, her husband Carl in 2006, three sisters and five brothers and children Randall and Sandra Lee.
