Sue Schmidt

Darlene “Sue” Schmidt, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Sue was known for her cooking; working many years at Stone’s Restaurant.

Left to miss her are her six granddaughters, Alli Shearer, Lizzie Schmidt, Rayne Schmidt, Gabby Schmidt, Samantha Schmidt, and Billie Jo Schmidt; great-grandson, Tyler Hammond. She and her husband, David, had two boys, William and Timmy. She was preceded in by her husband, David and her son, William “Billy”. Sue was one of seven children; she was preceded in death by two sisters and survived by 3 sisters and a brother.

Following Sue’s wishes, cremation rites will take place. There will be no formal services. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
