Darrell Verne Argo

Darrell Verne Argo, 82, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, December 25th, 2021 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown.  A memorial gathering for Darrell will take place on Monday, January, 3, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Embers in the chapel. Darrell Verne Argo was born on November 5, 1939 in Leon, Iowa to Alden “Babe” and Merle Butler Argo. He graduated from Leon High School after recovering from a car accident in which he was a passenger that left him so badly injured he had to graduate a year later than scheduled. Darrell served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964, stationed in Germany. On September 26, 1961, Darrell was united in marriage to Sherry Kay Goreham in West Des Moines, Iowa. Darrell had worked at Fisher Controls in the weld shop for over forty two years retiring in 2007. He enjoyed going to the senior citizen center, was an avid card player, involved in the camera club and several coffee groups. Darrell enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, golfing, bird watching and being outdoors. He enjoyed bantering with folks from time to time stating he liked to change things up to brighten other's days. Darrell is survived by his daughter, Nicole Waller of Georgia and his grandchildren: Zach and Olivia Waller. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry; daughter, Deneen Krajcir and his sister, Mildred Joss.
