Darrell Allen Peshel

Darrell Peshel, 79, of Albion, IA passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2021. A public visitation for Darrell will be on Wednesday, May 12th from 5pm to 8pm at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 13th at 11am, also at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Marshalltown Combined VFW/ American Legion. For further information or to leave a condolence, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234.   Darrell Allen Peshel was born on December 4, 1941, in Garwin, Iowa, to parents Andrew and Helen (Mishler) Peshel. From a young age, Darrell showed excitement in getting his hands on any project he could muster. Darrell attended school in Iowa and joined the United States Army in September 1967 till May 1969. Darrell was Honorably discharged from serving with a rank of Specialist. He served in Vietnam from July 1968 to April 1969 and received the Commendation Medal. Darrell worked for Cooper Tire and Lennox Industries, sharing his love for hands-on work with those around him. Darrell was blessed to find love with his partner, Kathy Morrison. Darrell spent many years looking for the best Harley he could ride and still rode a lot, while enjoying old cars, collecting and fixing them up. Darrell enjoyed hanging out with friends whether at the casino or just in the comfort of home. Darrell also loved Elvis Presley, his music, collecting his memorabilia and playing his guitar while jamming alongside his loved ones. Darrell was a member of the UAW and Marshalltown Street Rods.  Darrell will be dearly missed by his partner, Kathy; his children Cindy (Robby) Wignall of Rhodes, Iowa, Michelle (John) Bendickson of Vinton, Iowa, and Doug Parmenter of Marshalltown, Iowa; his siblings, June Foreman of Marshalltown, Iowa, Norma Gummert of Marshalltown, Iowa, Dave (Hollie) Peshel of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Jerry Dean Peshel of Albion, Iowa; grandchildren, Levi Cowan of Vicenza, Italy serving as MP in United States Army, Trevor Cowan of Rhodes, Iowa, Trevor Wignall of Rhodes, Iowa, Riley Wignall of Marion, Iowa, Matt Bendickson of Vinton, Iowa, Eric Bendickson of Vinton, Iowa and Amanda Bendickson Wilkin of Vinton, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Lyla Michael of Marion, Iowa, nieces, nephews and friends.  Darrell is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Danny Peshel and Dennis Peshel.
