Darrell Umbaugh

Darrell Umbaugh, 79, of Peyton, Colorado, formerly of Marshalltown, died Thursday, December 2nd, at his home in Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9th, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregg Davison officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Born on September 16th, 1931, in Marshalltown, he was the son of George and Mary (Canedry) Umbaugh. He received his education in the Marshalltown Public Schools.On November 30th, 1957, he was united in marriage to Gladys Stine in Moline, IL. They made their home in Marshalltown. They were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and their family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jerry (Linda) Umbaugh, Gene (Diana) Umbaugh, David Umbaugh (Delpha Kerr), and Sharolyn (Greg) Case, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, 20 grandchildren: Robby, Anissa, Angela, Matt, Adam, Dan, Tanya, Tandy, Aaron, Carrie, Shantell, Cassie, Zackery, Dustin, Eme, Sharlotte, Joshua, Jared, Amanda, and Jena; 28 great-grandchildren: Cohen, Casen, Caden, Cooper, McKenna, Zacary, Tyler, Treyvor, Logan, Cheyenne, Jon, Darrell, Devin, Sierra, Kaden, Nathaniel, RaeLynn, Kaden, Landen, Maiya, Cale, Jayla, Keelie, Kailee, Ashlinn, Alexus, Shawnteis and Alyshiaand several nieces, nephews and friends. In death, he rejoined his beloved Gladys ( he so affectionately called Happy-Bottom) who died in April of 2009, his parents, son Kenneth Pinky and siblings Eadress, Vera, Lisa, Lyal, Herman, Gail, Ernest and Bernard.
