Daryl Howard Conrad, 77, of Rosemount, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services for Daryl will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bea Lebuda officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be directed in Daryls name to his family. Daryl Howard Conrad was born on March 5, 1937, in State Center, Iowa, the son of Howard and Gladys (Probst) Conrad. He was raised and educated in the Albion School District, graduating from Albion High School. Following high school, Daryl went on to the Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Daryl honorably served his country in the Air force. On June 7, 1959, Daryl married the love of his life, Sharon McDonald, in the Albion Methodist Church. He was employed at Fisher Governor for many years, as well as the military, airlines, and he owned and operated Favorite Photos with his wife in Marshalltown. Daryl was a member of the American Veterans, Minnesota Zoo, and Canterbury Park where he was a MVP member. Daryl had a passion for bowling, crafting wooden yard decorations, reading, photography, bingo, NASCAR racing, and horse racing. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon Conrad; two children: Darlynne and Ross Conrad; his mother, Glayds Conrad of Glenwood Place; one brother, Larry (Rita) Conrad; one sister, Judean (Bill) Mendenhall; one uncle, Loren Conrad; one aunt, Shirley (Dick) Southard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Daryl was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, two uncle, and two aunts.
