Daryl Keith Cross passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the care of Oakview Care Center of Conrad and Iowa River Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 03, 2026, starting at 11:00 A.M. at the Liscomb Church of Christ. Visitation will be held an hour prior to funeral services. Daryl Keith Cross was born on, February 27th, 1945 in Eldora, Iowa, to Lyle and Mary Etta Cross. He was raised in Clutier, Iowa, and attended Country School until it was closed and then spent 7th grade through his sophomore year in High School at Clutier Community School, which closed in 1961 and consolidated with Traer, where he graduated with the Traer-Clutier class of 1963. Daryl later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Buena Vista College in Marshalltown, Iowa. On August 15th, 1965, Daryl was united in marriage to Linda Jean Stuart at the Traer Methodist Church. Together, they made their home first in Marshalltown, moving to Liscomb, Iowa in 1976, and then moving in 2012 to Whitten, Iowa.
Daryl worked for Emerson Process Management as a Computer Analyst until his retirement. Following his retirement in 2008, Daryl enjoyed continuing to prepare taxes at H & R Block in Marshalltown, celebrating his 28th year in 2026. He was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ where he served as an elder and deacon and Kids Club volunteer. Daryl was an active member of the Marshalltown Duplicate Bridge Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sports & musical events and taking them to the State Fair and planning summer road trip adventures. The South Dakota & Wisconsin Dells trips were some of his fondest memories.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Cross, children: Kevin Cross, Jaycin (Erin) Cross, Austin Cross; grandchildren: Cody Heck, Noah Cross, McKenna Cross, and Palmer Cross; great-grandchildren: Elena Heck, Dawson Heck, and Stella Heck; step-brother, Bill Safley; sisters-in-law: Ardene Cross and Kate Stuart; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Marlys) Stuart; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Daryl is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle & Mary Etta, his brother Dwight Cross, sister Linda Pokorny; and brothers-in-law, John Pokorny and James Stuart.
