Daryl Cave Man Weidler, 57 of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on July 17, 2012 at Iowa City Nursing and Rehab after a short bout with cancer.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234.Daryl Weidler was born on December 6, 1954 in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Legg) Weidler. He attended school in the Marshalltown school district, graduating with the class of 1973. On September 9, 1978 Cave Man was united in marriage to Denise Brindle at the United Church of Christ in Liscomb, Iowa. He and Denise had lived in Marshalltown their entire married lives. He had been employed as a cook in several local restaurants in Marshalltown, Country Kitchen and Monicas Soup on the Loop and for the last number of years at O Js restaurant. Cave Man loved NASCAR Dirt Late Model Racing, Winston Cup, his life revolved around the racing schedules.Left to cherish Cave Mans memory is his wife of 33 years, Denise of Marshalltown, and son, Allen Brindle of Marshalltown, his siblings: Marcia Doty and Cheryl Dalton of Marshalltown, Iowa and Scott Weidler of Ames.In death he rejoins his parents, Kenneth and Virginia.
