David Anderson 68, of Gilman passed away, March 5, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa .Visitation will held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for David and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. David Gregory Anderson was born on January 1,1945, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Orville and Frances (Paul) Anderson. He attended school in the Laurel school district, graduating with the class of 1963. David served our country honorably in the United States Army. He lived in Gilman his entire life. David worked for Fisher Controls as their photographer, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed anything out of doors: hunting, fishing and archery. He was also a member of the Isaac Walton League. David was a member of the Laurel Fire Department for a number of years. Left to cherish Davids memory are his children: Ryan (Stephanie) Anderson, and Whitney (Patrick) Montez all of Marshalltown, Iowa; their mother, Mary Anderson of Marshalltown, his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hughes, Dane Anderson, Olivia Hart, Lane Hart and Eva Montez, Davids mom, Frances, and his brother, Skip Anderson. In death David rejoins his father, Orville Anderson .
