David Beem

David Beem, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the Iowa River Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later time. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for David and his family.     David Jerome Beem was born on December 9, 1940, at home in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of William E. and Bernice Vivian (Manship) Beem. He attended school in the Marshalltown and Clemons school districts. David served his country honorably in the United States Navy.  David was united in marriage to Norma Lee Phillips and they were blessed with two wonderful children, Hannah and Adam. They were later divorced and David was united in marriage to Patty Frisbie. Marshalltown has always been David’s home. He had worked for Fisher Controls for 38 years as a machine operator and later as an assembler. He had been a member of Local UAW 893. He always enjoyed a game of cards, bingo, his horses, golf, going to the Senior Center, and loved to be around his family doing about anything.Left to cherish his memory are his children, Hannah Lee Weir and Adam Wade Beem, of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren, Makaela, Makensie and Mackenna Beem and Tristan Weir; and several step grandchildren; siblings, William (Carol) Beem of Marshalltown, Norman (Raeleen) Beem and Brian (Karol) Beem, both of California.In death David rejoins his parents, William and Bernice, and wives, Patty and Norma.
