David Coleman, 67, of Rowlett, Texas passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Kindred Hospital in Dallas, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July12, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association in honor of David. David Russell Coleman was born on June 12, 1949, at Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Russell and Alma (Bach) Coleman. David attended school in the SEMCO Community School District graduating with the class of 1967. David went on and attended University Of Iowa (GO HAWKEYES). On October 1, 1970, David was united in marriage to Susan Stonewall at the Methodist Church in Bell Plain, Iowa. They later divorced. They had lived in Iowa before transferring to Plano, Texas with Lennox Industries and David worked for Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas as a Senior System Annalist for 30 years. As a kid he was in 4-H and enjoyed being a member of the Jaycees. He loved his music, movies, card games, marbles, trivia, but above all else he loved his family. Left to cherish his memory are his girls, Andrea Schaer of Rowlett, Texas and Jessica Coleman of Garland, Texas, Grandchildren, Courtney and Colin Schaer, Mother, Alma Rogers of Marshalltown, Siblings, Linda (Calvin) Woosley of Beaman, Iowa, Jan Hill Wilson of Marshalltown, and Rich (Robin) Coleman of Osage Beach, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews, longtime friend, Terri Bittenger, and his 4 legged friends, Lady, Pearl, Buttercup and Mollie. In death David rejoins, his Father, Russell Coleman, Step-father, Richard Rogers, Brother-in-law, Robert Wilson and Grandmother, Rosella K Bach.
