David Albert Cox

David Albert Cox, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Graveside services will take place on Friday, June 23 (note date) at 3:30 P.M. at Benson Cemetery in Grundy County with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Please join the family for a luncheon at the Best Western on Friday, June 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. Military honors will be provided by the combined VFW / American Legion of the surrounding area. David was born August 20, 1952 in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents Albert and Lyla (Bell) Cox. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army, serving honorably from 1972 to 1981. He was married to Vicki Russell in 1975 and to this union was blessed with two children. Upon his return to Marshalltown, he worked as head cook at the Iowa Veterans Home. In his free time, he enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing and motorcycles.

Left to cherish his memory is his children: Dustin (Jessica) Cox and Shawna Cox; grandchildren: Logan, Kelsey, Brennan, Ashley, Makayla, Kaylea and Noah and his siblings: Paul (Chico) Cox and Joylayne Haskell.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lyla and his sisters, Sharon and Shelley.
