David Paul Red Fisher, 63, of State Center, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clemons Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. David Paul Fisher was born on September 1, 1945, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. He was the son of Grover and Opal (Cody) Fisher. He graduated from Ames High School in 1963. Dave served a 5-year apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 in Des Moines, Iowa. On May 23, 1981, he married Murdie Faye Pritchett in Clemons, Iowa. The couple resided in State Center. Dave was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #33 Union in Des Moines for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and he was a big fan of John Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Murdie, of State Center; his daughter, Paula Kokemiller of Ames; his stepchildren, Sherry (Mark) Giannetto of Marshalltown, Clint Sillyman of Houston, MO, and Brenda (Lester) Weber of Maple Lake, MN; his 6 grandchildren, Joshua Kokemiller, Katie Kokemiller, Kyle Weber, Shanna Weber, Abby Weber, and Carl Giannetto; his brother, Robert (Joreen) Fisher of Zearing; his nieces, Carol Crane, Sherry Poole, Julie Osborn, and Ann Henderson; and his nephew, Tim Fisher. In death, he has rejoined his parents and his brother Roger, who died in December 2008.
