David Groves

David Groves, 44, of 2110 Edgebrook Drive, Marshalltown, died Tuesday morning, May 29th, at his home while in care of his family and the Iowa River Hospice. Memorial services and a celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2nd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A time of fellowship and refreshments will immediately follow. Born on March 8th, 1963, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was the only son of Donald and Evelyn (Riggins) Groves. He graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1981 and then from the Marshalltown Community College with a degree in computer science. He was united in marriage to Beth Anderson. David was a computer systems analyst for the DOT for the past 15 years. He enjoyed golf, ISU, the Beatles, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, his 2004 red and black Ford Mustang Convertible and his motorcycle. He treasured his family and friends. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Debbie, whom he married on August 19th, 1998 in LasVegas, his daughter Shannon Groves of Ogden, Iowa, step-daughter Alicia Ash of Marshalltown, his in-laws Ted and Judy Smith of Marshalltown, his Yorkie dog Snickers, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
