David Lee Lange, 78, of Marshalltown, Iowa and formerly of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on the evening of Friday, February 11, 2022 at Grandview Heights in Marshalltown. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for David and his family. David was born February 3, 1944 to parents Paul and Ruth (Dingman) Lange in Moline, Illinois. He was the second of three children born to the pair. He attended school in East Moline and graduated from United Township High School in East Moline in 1962. David continued his education at the State College of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Debra Ann (Rice)(now Leehoven). They later separated. They moved to Texas and began a family raising his daughter LeighAnn. They Moved to Ankeny, Iowa in 1996 when he had taken a job for Road Machinery and Supplies Co. where he worked as their parts manager and inventory control specialist for the Iowa and Illinois area. He worked with RMS until his retirement in 2013. In 2014 he moved to Marshalltown where he could be closer to his daughter. In his free time, David loved watching the dirt track stock car races, spending time with his family, helping to care for his mother and his family, grilling, and always putting others above himself. He was a member of the United Methodist Men and the Girl Scouts of America while his daughter was active within the program. He is survived by his children, LeighAnn (Doug) Ruopp and Tiffany Bovee; his grandchildren Drake and Levi Ruopp; his brother, Craig (Pam) Lange; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth Lange; his brother Richard Lange and his niece Heather Lange.
