David Lurvey

David Lurvey, 55, of Ferguson, Iowa, passed away from his injuries with his family by his side at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Funeral services for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Young officiating. Public visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m. David will be laid to rest at Center School Cemetery. David Lurvey was born on February 20, 1962, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Wayne Eugene and Ethel Elizabeth (Watson) Lurvey. He was raised and educated in the LDF school district. David went on to receive his G.E.D from DMACC. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Smith, but the two later divorced. He was a hardworking man, dedicating his most recent time at K-Mart as their cleaning maintenance tech. David had many passions in life but a few of his main were: food of any kind, fishing, playing cards, and his family, and playing chess with his dad. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Ethel Lurvey; son: Tyler Lurvey; sibling: Deanna (Steven) Hayden and numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, one sister: Linda and both sets of grandparents.
