David Vilez Sr.

David Vilez Sr., 77, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will take place prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. David Vilez Sr. was born on March 29, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. He was the son of Mary Vilez and Manuel Vilez Sr. He was united in marriage to Vickie Paris and they later divorced. He then married Bonnie Untiedt and they later parted ways. David had previously worked at JBS and retired in 2020. David was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed fishing, mowing yards, collect watches and was a hard worker. He even was the Grand Marshall of the Oktemberfest parade one year.

David is survived by his children: David Vilez Jr., April Vilez, Eli Vilez, Traci Vilez and Mike Vilez. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

David is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Manuel, siblings: Virginia Veliz, Ester Veliz, Manuel Veliz Jr. and Frank Veliz and his ex-wives, Vickie and Bonnie.
