David " Wally" Waltemeyer

David “Wally” Waltemeyer, 60, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away in his sleep on May 14, 2018, at home.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May19, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. David Craig Waltemeyer was born on December 26, 1957, at the Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of L. David Waltemeyer and Shirley (Whitmore) Waltemeyer. He attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District and graduated with the class of 1975. He served the National Guard for a number of years. In 1979, he was united in marriage to Laurie Jarchow; they later divorced. David worked at Ace Precision before his retirement due to health issues. He enjoyed fishing and digging for collectable bottles. Left to remember David are his children, Shane KC Waltemeyer of Marshalltown, Iowa, Jeremy (Rhea) Waltemeyer of St. Anthony, Iowa and Darlene Waltemeyer of State Center, Iowa; his mother, Shirley Waltemeyer; grandchildren, Rhea and Odin Waltemeyer; and siblings, Roger Waltemeyer of Marshalltown and Joann (Mike) Willits of Gladbrook, Iowa.  In death David rejoins his father, L. David Waltemeyer; brother, Dwayne; two nephews, Anthony and Michael Waltemeyer; and niece, Randi Vajgert.
