Deanna Dee Dee Jean Sanderson, 65, of Texas, passed away on Thursday May 8, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center. Memorial services for Dee Dee will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Deanna Bender was born on May 7, 1949, in rural Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Ina Mae Whitney. Dee Dee graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1968. On December 7, 1968 Dee Dee was united in marriage to William Lawrence Sanderson in Marshalltown. Dee Dee was previously employed with Lennox Industries as an Administrative Assistant, The Federal Group as an Administrative Assistant to the President, National County Mutual as Secretary to the VP of Underwriting and for Glidden in Accounts Receivable. Dee Dee enjoyed collecting many things such as stuffed bears, dolls, perfume bottles and glassware. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 45 years: William. Mother: Ina. Children: Samuel James Sanderson and Sarah Catherine (Michael Patrick Whites) Sanderson. Siblings: Gary Whitney of Idaho, Michael (Cheryl) Callahan of Le Grand, Robert (Vanessa) Callahan of Colorado, John Callahan of Des Moines, David (Abby) Callahan of Wyoming and Cathy (Jay) Ward of Florida. Aunts: Cathy Nolan, Eileen Gauch, Margaret Sharp and Ann Poshek. Dee Dee is preceded in death by her brother Paul Callahan and grandmother Flora Whitney.
