Debra Bendlage

Debra Joan Bendlage, 65, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.  Cremation rites have been accorded and there are currently no scheduled services for Deb. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Deb and her family.  Debra Schooley was born on December 5, 1952 in Marshalltown to Melvin and Jacqueline Ennis Schooley. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1971. Deb had worked at the Marshall County Home as a nurse’s aide until its closing as well as at Wal Mart in the pharmacy. She had a great love and care for all animals, especially cats and dogs. Deb also enjoyed doing yard work and tending to her flowers.  Deb is survived by her children: Jeremy Bendlage of Chicago, Illinois, Nicole Vanderley of Ankeny and Jason Bendlage of Marshalltown. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jacob and Ian, father, Melvin Schooley as well as her sister, Pam (Nick) Parrott of Montrose, Colorado and many other family and friends. Deb is preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline.
