Dee Holmes 52 of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October, 24, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. A Memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, from 10:00 to 12:00p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Daisy Mae Vernon was born on May 31, 1965, in Bay Minette, Alabama; she was the daughter of Tommy Lee Vernon and Janet Lee Hamilton. Dee was blessed with her dad, Jim Hamilton whom raised her with her mom. She attended and graduated from Forsyth, Missouri. She had lived in Marshalltown for the past 25 years, and was the General Manager at Best Western Regency in Marshalltown. Dee wasnt one to join clubs and organizations as she wanted to spend the time with her family, friends, children and grandchildren whom were her life. Left to cherish her memory are her boys, Richard Holmes of Marshalltown, Iowa and Matt(Anita) Holmes of Newton, Iowa, her pride and joy, grandchildren, David, Kelly and Brandon Fuzz Head Holmes, mother, Janet Hamilton of Marshalltown, brother, Terry Vernon of Rolla, Missouri and sisters, Kimberly Haynes of Strafford, Missouri and Cheryl Vernon of Taneyville Missouri. In death Dee rejoins her father, Jim Hamilton and the love of her life, Dean Childs.
