Delbert Bus Cooper, 91 of LaMoille, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Bus will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Elmwood Cemetery in LaMoille. Delbert Wesley Cooper was born on March 20, 1923, in Marshalltown, to Calvin Wesley and Grace Gilgen Cooper. Bus graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1941. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1941, serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a Technician 3rd Grade, and honorably discharged in 1946. Bus was united in marriage to Betty Havens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, on June 5, 1948. They resided together in Lamoille throughout their married life. Bus worked as an auto mechanic for many years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, auto racing, gardening, and Ham Radio. Bus is survived by his sister in laws: Marjorie (Dean) Butters, Mary Jeanne Cooper, Patty (Dale) Wiese and Gloria Chappelear as well as many nieces and nephews. Bus is preceded in death by his wife Betty who passed away in 2011, parents Calvin and Grace, brother Keith Cooper and sisters Helen Brush, Arlene Shaffer and Betty Mahoney.
