Delbert Flowers

Delbert Del Flowers, 62, of Garwin, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Following cremation, memorial services for Delbert will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 20, the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at the Turner Cemetery at a later date. He was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School System. Following high school Delbert went to work for Bigelow-Liptak, and then Donaldson Company in Grinnell, Iowa, where he retired from after twenty years of service. When Delbert had free time, he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, riding Harleys and stock car racing. Delbert is survived by his two daughters: Tammy Flowers and Tracy Towlerton both of Boone, Iowa, his mother Betty Flowers of Marshalltown, his brother Alvin (Diane) Flowers of Conway, Arkansas, and his six grandchildren: Tamalina Towlerton, Joshua Gideon, Mackenzie Flowers, Mason Murphy, Jennisa Towlerton and Maddison Gregory. Delbert was preceded in death by his father Herman, his sister Shirley Ann and his wife Jeannee Flowers.
