Delores Goettsch, 79, of Brooklyn, Iowa, passed away on the morning of October 3, 2020 at home with her loving family at her side. A memorial service for Delores will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Delores and her family.Delores Ann Reisinger was born to parents Warren and Bernice (Malfeld) Reisinger on August 9, 1941, at their home in Bromley, Iowa, East of Clemons. She was a graduate of Clemons High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Delores went to work for Cliff Swanson in 1968 and in 1976 became a part owner of Swanco Enterprise, Inc. When Cliff went to an incorporated, she became a stockholder and treasurer of the incorporation. She later became vice president and treasurer. She retired in November 2007. Delores was active within politics from treasurer of Marshall County Democrats as well as district and state levels. In 1972, she attended the National Democratic Convention in Florida. She joined the women of the moose chapter 71 in 1972 and earned Graduate Regent Degree. She was also a member of the Academy of Friendship. She spent many years in Pony Express Riders of Iowa. Delores raised funds for the crippled children at Camp Sunnyside in Ankeny with several years as Marshall County Chairmen and also served on the state board of Pony Express Riders of Iowa at Camp Sunnyside. In her free time, she enjoyed camping and taking her horses along, tending to flower gardens, spending time with her family, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers, an avid democrat and watching the hummingbirds at her home. She enjoyed yearly vacations to Northeast Iowa for fishing trips and shopping at the flea markets. She went on numerous golf cart rides around Holiday Lake with her husband Gary as well as reading books and doing puzzles. She was married to Danny Winter and later divorced. In 1992, she married her husband Gary Goettsch where the two spent 27 years together. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children Rene (Aaron) Wiegand of Brooklyn and Annette Adkins-Corwin of Marshalltown; her grandchildren, Amanda (Derek) Kriegel, Nicole (Tanner) Meldrem, Mallery Adkins, and Jesse Wiegand; her great-granddaughter Ellie Mae English; her brother Bruce (Mary) Reisinger and her brother-in-law Clarence “Butch” Moore; several nieces and nephews, in laws, step children, and step-grandchildren. In death, Delores rejoined her husband Gary; her parents, Warren and Bernice Reisinger; and her sisters Eleanor Moore, Lorna (Richard) Turner, Juanita (John) Mason, and Nancy Snyder.
