Delores Mae Rose

Delores Mae Rose, 91, a resident of Grandview Heights Rehab in Marshalltown, passed away there on Feb 23, 2018.  Born, March 5, 1926, to John and Mary (Beebe) Shalley, in Marshalltown, Iowa, she attended and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1944. On June 27, 1948, she married Euguene “Sug” Wolf in Marshalltown. They later divorced. On Nov 21, 1964, she married Fritz C. Rose in Omaha, Nebraska.  He preceded her in death on May 4, 1970. She lived in Marshalltown most of her life, working as a bookkeeper for Swifts of Marshalltown, retiring in 1988. She maintained a childhood friendship with Shirley Boyer Tarrence, throughout her life and with Fritz could be seen bowling in multiple leagues.  She enjoyed her many trips to New York City with Janice Thorne, friend, and witness to her marriage to Fritz.   She was preceded in death by her infant sister Margaret Jean, parents, and sister Dorothy Buchwald in 2016. She leaves behind niece Rachelle Lewis and husband Reggie, nephew Randy Buchwald and wife Peggy, grandnephew Sean Lewis and great grandniece Emmah Lewis, extended family, Billy, Lindsey and Leo Rolison, Emma and Julian Moore, niece Pam Elliott, nephews Eric, Fred and Rod Rose and their families. The family would like to thank the staff of Grandview Heights for providing care and support in the five years she resided there.  Private graveside services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Marshalltown, Iowa will be held at a later date.  Mitchell Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
