Deloris Gustin

Deloris Arlene Gustin, 82, of Union, passed peacefully and surrounded by her friends and family at her beloved home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. A Celebration of Life open house by the family will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the South Hardin Recreational Center, 601 Chapin Street, Union, IA 50258. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Deloris and her family. Deloris Hardy was born on December 10, 1934 in Des Moines to Jack and Arlene Deaton Hardy. She attended Tech High School in Des Moines. On July 15, 1951, Deloris was united in marriage to Dick Gustin at Simpson Methodist Church in Des Moines. She enjoyed doing puzzles and gardening but above all else, loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events. Deloris is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dick. Children: Debra Taylor of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Rick (Judy) Gustin of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Micah (Suzanne) Taylor, Brandy (Casey) Masek, Nicholas Taylor, Jimmy (Monica) Gustin, Richie (Holly) Gustin, Ryan (Kendra) Gustin, Jenae Gustin and Travis (Kerry) Olson. Twelve great grandchildren. Siblings: Joann (Ted) Dyer and Raymond James (Joanne) Hardy. She is also survived by her nephew Barry (Annette) Dyer and niece Brenda Gustafson as well as many other nieces, nephews and family members. Deloris is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Arlene.
