Deloris Summers

Deloris Jane Summers, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at UnityPoint Health in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Deloris will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation. Deloris Jane Stuhr was born on June 24, 1938 in Harlan, Iowa. She was the daughter of Milda Baker. She was united in marriage to Donald Summers in Marshalltown in 1992, yet they were together for many years before marriage. Deloris had previously worked for Northside Day Care for 15 years and most recently for 10 years as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed crocheting, reading before bedtime, watching Wheel of Fortune and going to the casino from time to time. She also loved Christmas time, visiting with her friends on Facebook and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Deloris is survived by her children: Julie Hartwig, Jean (Dan) Johnson, Jeffry Schultz and Jan (Richard) Husak. Grandchildren: Jason Gauthier, Justin (Allie) Hartwig, Jessica Hartwig, Jillissa Handorf, Cassie Schultz, Dustin Quam, Madison Faber, Tim Husak and Lance Husak. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Gavin, Sofie, Aiden, Addison, Jace, Alivia, Jorell, Lincoln, Max, Carson and Myles and siblings: Diane Larsen and Bill Stuhr. Deloris is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Jack Schultz and her parents.
