Denise Jane Allenstein

Denise Allenstein, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on March 9, 2021 at Iowa River Hospice Home. A visitation for Denise will be at Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, from 10 AM to 11 AM, with a funeral service to follow. Denise will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following the service. For those unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed on the Mitchell Family Funeral Home Facebook Page. Denise was born in Waverly and stayed a lifetime resident of Iowa. Denise graduated high school and went on to pursue education in business. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dolph Dean Allenstein in 1954. Together, they raised seven beautiful children, and Denise spent her time giving them a loving, warm home. Denise was an excellent cook, making a Christmas tradition with her delicious cookies. She also loved making each of her children a special meal and a special cake for their birthdays. Denise loved reading, learning, and doing crossword puzzles, and she loved crocheting blankets, tablecloths, and bedspreads in her down time.   Left to cherish her memory are her children: Alan (Raejean) Hullinger of Chandler, AZ; Randy (Jane) Allenstein of San Tan Valley, AZ; Julie (Earl) Hadley of Marshalltown, IA; Kristi (Darrell) Wyant of Marshalltown, IA; Mary (Vick) Hale of Marshalltown, IA; Michael (Jacki) Allenstein of Clear Lake, IA; her 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.   Denise is reunited in death to her parents, her husband Dolph Dean Allenstein, daughter Kathy Allenstein, grandson Rick, and her three brothers.
