Dennis Adelmund

Dennis David Adelmund (60), of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away at the Marshalltown Medical Surgical Center on June 10th, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 4pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dennis and his family. Fritz was born on November 19th, 1954, to Robert Adelmund and Pauline (Johnson) Adelmund in Grundy Center, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Parkersburg, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1973. Following high school, Dennis served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1975. On March 22nd, 1986, Dennis and Carol Louise Messmer were united in marriage at Shelby Park, in Nashville, Tennessee. The two stayed in Nashville for a time, until moving to Marshalltown, Iowa, a year later. Fritz received his King Cardinalship in 1985. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, rock climbing, golfing, fishing, hiking and climbing trees. He also enjoyed playing video games like Final Fantasy and Zelda. He enjoyed attending every Ozzfest, and was an avid Greenbay Packers fan. His ideal Sunday would include kicking back with family and friends to watch a good game. His greatest passion in life was being a loving husband and father. Dennis will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Left to preserve his memory is his wife; Carol, children; Steven (Alicia) Adelmund, Shelly Adelmund, Paul Adelmund, Grandchildren: Kayla , Nicholas and Leo Adelmund. Siblings; Steve (Betty) Adelmund, Diane (Glenn) Whiteside, Gary (Colleen) Adelmund and Rick (Jolie) Adelmund, aunt; Lena Neiman and Ella Vandeventer. In death, Dennis rejoins his parents; Robert and Pauline Adelmund and his nephew; Joey Whiteside.
