Dennis "Denny" Brown

Dennis Brown, 83, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at his home and under the care of Hospice of the Midwest. PLEASE NOTE UPDATE-BECAUSE OF THE IMPENDING WEATHER ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29TH, THE GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR. BROWN WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31ST, AT RIVERSIDE CEMETERY RATHER THAN THE TUESDAY ORIGINALLY PLANNED. Dennis Brown was born on November 30, 1937 in Marshalltown to Ronald and Berniece Anderson Brown. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1956. On November 22, 1960 he was united in marriage to Barbara Glenn in Morrison, Illinois. Barbara passed away in 1984. Denny was retired from Fisher Controls. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Denny enjoyed bowling, slow pitch softball, coaching baseball, crosswords and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Denny is survived by his son, Kip (Pam) Brown of Gladbrook. Grandchildren: Theil Brown, Derek Brown, Chrissa (Connor Hunt) Brown, Stefanie Brown and Tisha Heintz. Great granddaughter: Mariah Brown. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Ortega and daughter in law, Pam Dennen and many extended family members. Denny is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Kyle Brown; parents, Ronald and Berniece; brother, Gordon Brown and sister, Sharon Bowie.
