Dennis "Denny" Earl Pfantz

Dennis Earl Pfantz, 76, of Melbourne, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services for Denny will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center with Pastor Robert Ricard. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., also at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center. Memorials may be directed to the family. Dennis Pfantz was born on April 7, 1948 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Glenn and Arlene (Schaffer) Pfantz. Denny graduated from West Marshall High School in 1967. On March 30, 1969, Denny was united in marriage to Marie Beck at the Evangelical church in Marshalltown. While still farming, Denny and Marie had owned and operated their own vet and feed supply store, D and M Vet Supply, started in their garage and moved to Main St. in State Center for fifteen plus years. Dennis had retired from Lennox in 2010 as a forklift operator.

Denny enjoyed fishing, hunting and working hard. He enjoyed the summers that he and Marie would spend in their RV in Minnesota with their friends. Denny loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family. Everyone enjoyed his stories, jokes and knew about his infectious laugh.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie; children: Denise (Jacob) Berrey of Albion and Rick (Jamie) Pfantz of Baxter. Grandchildren: Jordian (Kyle) Dougherty, Chad (Taylor) Berrey, Clair Pfantz, Austin Pfantz and Carli Pfantz. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Cade, Asher and Isaac Dougherty and brother: Garry (Barb) Pfantz of State Center along with father-in-law: Floyd Love.

Dennis is preceded in death by his son: Chad Pfantz, his parents Glenn and Arlene Pfantz and in-laws: Wayne and Irene Beck and Patricia Love.
