Dennis J. Reilly, 58, of Marshalltown, died Monday, August 17, 2009, surrounded by his family while in the care of Iowa Hospice.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at St. Henrys Catholic Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Garwin. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at St Henry's Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Ph 641-844-1234.Dennis James Reilly was born on August 3, 1951, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Daniel and Mary (Wagner) Reilly. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1969. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. On April 19, 1974, Dennis married Marcia Jean Ruff at St. Henrys Catholic Church. The couple had lived in Marshalltown for the last 25 years.Dennis was a staff engineer for 30 years for the city of Marshalltown. He was a member of St. Henrys Catholic Church. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, Mopars, tinkering in his Morton building with his best buddy, Clayton, woodworking, and collecting guns. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Dennis will be missed by his wife, Marcia, of Marshalltown; his three children, Andrea Reilly, Nick Reilly, and Marissa Reilly, all of Marshalltown; his grandson, Austin Eubanks; his step-grandchildren, Clayton and Jake Eubanks; his siblings, Mary Freese of Cedar Rapids, Larry(Nancy) Reilly of Waterloo, John(Malinda) Reilly of Ely, IA, Joan Wildfield of Bellingham, WA, Kevin(Judy) Reilly of Cedar Rapids, Daniel Reilly of Monroe, WI, Beth(Scott) Smothers of Cedar Rapids, Mark(Chris) Reilly of Cedar Rapids, Steve(Susan) Reilly of Jamestown, OH, Teri Clark of Arlington, MN, and Mike Reilly of Cedar Rapids, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends.In death, Dennis has rejoined his parents, his sister Patty Brogan, and his brothers-in-law, Roger Freese and Herbert Brogan.
