Denny Ryner, 59, of Laurel, died unexpectedly on Monday morning, August 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Seims of the Laurel United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services. Following the interment, all are invited to gather with the family for refreshments and fellowship at the funeral home. Dennis Wayne Ryner was born April 13, 1952, in Marshalltown to Clifford and Bonnie (Brown) Ryner. He was raised by his grandparents Morris Curly and Mable Brown of Laurel.He lived in Laurel all of his life and attended Sunday school at the Laurel United Methodist Church. He graduated from the SEMCO High School in 1970. Denny was a faithful, hard-working employee of Maytag in Newton for over 30 years until his retirement.Denny enjoyed spending time with his cousins, airplanes, dirt bikes, Harley-Davidsons, classic cars, trout fishing, camping in Minnesota and his Scotty dogs. He was known as Dog to his friends. He is survived by his aunt Carol Ann Swift (Larry) of Gilman, half-brothers Mike and Mark Ryner of Des Moines, cousins: Scott (Mary) Swift of Laurel, Todd (Kristin) Swift of Bondurant and Shauna (Jeff) Cook of Haverhill as well as their children- Ashley, Nick, Alex, Jordan, Mathew, Seth and Cameron as well as other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Denny was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie, grandparents Morris Curly and Mable Brown, Lloyd and Dorothy Ryner and father and step-mother Cliff and Yvonne Ryner.
