Diana Lynn Goedken

The beautiful spirit of Diana L. Goedken, 56, of Farley, Iowa, formerly of Conrad, departed this earthly life on the morning of Friday, June 26th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Church. Phone 641-844-1234 Born Diana Lynn Lutes on May 28th, 1959, in Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of Robert and Sharon (Morris) Lutes. She graduated from the BCL High School in 1977 and then Iowa State University in 1981. That same year, she was united in marriage to David Alan Goedken in Marshalltown, and although their ways parted, they were blessed with four children- Justin, Jared, Nathan and Jessica. Diana was passionate about her career of teaching. She taught for 24 years for early elementary students with the last 17 years in multi- aged classroom in the Monticello Schools. She enjoyed many things in life, including movies, her yard, family and friends and shopping- sometimes from the comfort of her living room! Diana will be greatly missed by her children- Justin D. (Heather) Goedken of Conrad, Jared M. Goedken of Farley, Nathan R. Goedken of Dubuque and Jessica L. Goedken (Jeremy Bell) of Monticello, her parents Robert and Sharon Lutes of Conrad, sister Cindy (Todd) Reel of Conrad and Doug Lutes (Jill Dierks) of Conrad, as well as many friends and other family. In death, Diana rejoined her grandparents.
